at this size wouldn't it make more sense to move the bed rather than the hotend?

Can be much easily handled by just buying a cheap charge cable . Risk free. There are also two charge contact metal , you can easily design a charge dock using any usb port type. I made one.

Off the shelf parts....Except for some eletronics parts ,pcb, like x y endstops, maybe also inside print head gantry too? ( forgot whats in stock design, everyone now uses special toolhead pcb, can bus etc)

I hope Micronics is successful and they work out all the little issues.

Whether this happens is highly dependent on geometry and what forces are on the parts while they're hot. Decorative items where the extrusion lines ("grain") aren't largely all parallel are fine on a hot black dash 365 days a year. The gears in the drag racer look fine too. It's the thin flat body structures, which look like they were holding the entire weight while hot, that failed.

Would it be possible to use a smartphone accelerometer? If you connected to the web server from your phone and then attached your phone to the printer could you get the phone to send its sensor readings to the webpage.

Oh man, that is heart breaking.. what a bummer.. well, not all is lost on that, as it is a perfect example that many will now see and learn from, because you and them at the booth, are willing to showcase what just 110°F to 140°F will do for extended time periods in a vehicle in the summer heat.. I am sure, many have heard the rumors of PLA going soft in an automobile in summer time heat, but not personally had the unfortunate experience of a loss.. but, you and the booth showcasing it, that is real world example of likely, 80 plus hours of loss, and $40 to $80 in material toasted, almost literally.. thank you for showing this important heads-up.. and thank you to the modeler(s) at the booth for not fearing this being seen.

Great video, as always. The reason I subscribed. If you don’t mind a technical question… First, I’m new to 3D printing but not without mechanical aptitude. I got an OG Ender 3 , printed some stuff, and started upgrading. I just put a glass Bed “Creality” brand. Since the swap, nothing sticks without an adhesion helper. Curious, I pointed my thermal camera at it and the bed surface is 10degC cooler than indicated. Do I need to get something equivalent to thermal paste? I’m trying to let it hot soak, but not looking promising. I’m using Marlin, soon to switch to Klipper, is there something in firmware to indicate a specific bed material? Any thoughts or ideas will be greatly appreciated! Thanks- Jason Burchell

Actually hope that this little marvel will be scalable. A bit more work volume and the ability to add a waterbed and flood cooling and maybe later a tool changer and we have an absolute winner here. And hopefully we can build this from 40 series rail, not only 30. Plenty of good possibilities there.

I’d already consider a 35 pound backpack decently heavy, more than I’ve ever backpack hiked with, but like there’s also a lot of leverage from it sticking out so far.

That Monoprice select mini was sitting beside what got me into 3d printing, a printrbot simple. I had the OG version that used fishing line for the x and y movement. It was practically unusable, but I took the guts and and made an i3 mk2 out of it. Ahh the good old days..

Why do you care so much about sd cards. Turn off auto run and it's fine.

If electricity goes does it has a resume printing feature ? since we are using raspberry pi we save in the memory
